This Chawanmushi (Japanese steamed egg custard) bowl is decorated with the traditional Tokusa Pattern and it will go well with any style of table settings.
This series of "Tokusa"(vertical stripes, a traditional Japanese decoration) chawanmushi by Fukuhou Kiln was first produced in 1976 and has been very popular since then. The patterns are carefully hand-painted by skillful craftsmen.

About Fukuhou Kiln 福峰窯:
Established in 1966, Fukumine Kiln is a Hasamiware pottery where all of the dyed and red-painted items are hand-painted by skilled craftsmen. Their most famous style is the delicate painting of the "Tokusa"(vertical stripe) pattern and the series of "Tokusa" tablewares have been very popular since it's first introduced in 1976.
