The bowl with lid could help keep the rice and other dishes warm and it's the perfect size for various kinds of Japanese rice with side dishes in a bowl. The lid can also be used as a separate bowl for kid’s portion.

The Japanese Donburi rice bowl is decorated with Sakura(cherry blossoms) in bright colors. The painting style is Nishiki-e, which evolved from elaborate woodblock print with multiple colors. The traditional nishiki pattern never goes out of style and that's the reason why Haruyama Seito chose this as the signature decoration of their bowl. It requires highly skilled craftsman and advanced manufacturing process to make Nishiki rice bowls with such a high level of perfection. That’s why Haruyama Seito’s Donburi bowl is such a coveted tableware.

About Haruyama Seito春山制陶:
Founded in 1958 in Dachi-cho, Japan's top rice bowl producing town, Haruyama Seito has been specializing in making bowls and is the premium minoware bowl manufacturer. The bowl they have produced has delicate patterns but also is of commercial grade. It's very durable and not easily chipped.

The manufacturing process of Haruyama Seito:

After being molded in the workshop, it is unglazed at 800 degrees. The sketch is done using ``pad printing,'' which involves pressing a silicone pad onto an intaglio plate imprinted with paint to transfer the design onto the fabric. Although most of the work is done by machines, we do not forget to check each item with our own eyes to ensure there are no inconveniences. In addition, fine lines that require precision are drawn by hand without relying on machines. Overpainting was changed from copper plate transfer to transfer paper. Sticker-like paper with a design is pasted on, glazed, and fired at 1300 degrees to print the design.
