Frustum is a teapot that has been redesigned for modern life in order to make the tea time more enjoyable.

The special teapot shape emulates traditionally Japanese iron kettles made in the Tohoku region, echoing the tradition of tea culture.

To create a modern tea utensils while respecting the traditional Japanese culture, the maker of the Frustum teapot experimented and re-iterated many times to come out with the shape of the teapot and spout to combine aesthetic pleasure and functionality.

As a recognition to the thoughtful, unique design and its premium quality, this Yamatsu's tea set won the red dot design award 2020, the most prestigious international design award in Germany.

The teapot comes with a tea strainer. It is delivered in an original box, perfect for gift-giving.

If you feel that the handle is loose when you insert them, please remove them, open them slightly by hand, and insert them again.

[How to attach the metal handle]
The handle is slightly narrow at first. Hold both ends with both hands and open them slightly before inserting.

Insert the handle from either the front or the back for smooth installation. Please be careful not to open the handle too wide, as it may break.

The metal handle will have a black "metal mark" when rubbed against porcelain, but this is not a problem in use.

If you are concerned about stains, remove the metal handle and pack it with kitchen paper soaked in acid detergent to soak.

About Yamatsu Kiln

Founded in the first year of the Meiji era, the Yamatsu Kiln (晋山窯ヤマツ株式会社) has been producing Minoyaki ceramicware for over a century and a half in Toki City, Gifu, the heart of the Minoyaki industry. Their main product is commercial-use tea ware made of white porcelain clay, but Yamatsu Kiln is actively challenging themselves to propose ceramic products that adapts to the modern society. Current kiln master Tsuchiyama Masayoshi.
